Bengal defeated hosts Baroda by 9 wickets at the MotiBagh Stadium in Vadodara based mainly on a superb bowling performance from speedster AshokDinda. However, it was big time disappointment for Bengal as they narrowly missed out in entering the Quarter Finals. The visitors needed a 10-wicket win to enter the Quarters which would have got them a better quotient compared to Haryana who also finished their season's league campaign with 14 points.
Well the final day began with Baroda at 103 for 5, and all they could add was 36 more runs before losing the rest of their wickets! Overnight batsman RakeshSolanki added just the one run to his score of 55 before falling early in the morning session. Dinda took another five-wicket haul for Bengal while SouravSarkar took four wickets leaving Bengal with just the target of 34 for a win.
