BPL 2012 or the Bangladesh Premier League has been possibly affected with match fixing and spot fixing incidents

The inaugural edition of the fancied Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2012) has been hit by match fixing stories! A few days ago, Bangladesh’s former Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza who is now the Captain of the Dhaka Gladiators had reported that he was approached by a former cricketer to indulge in spot-fixing. Even before this matter was being inquired by a Bangladesh Cricket Board committee, another incident has hit the BPL. Today there was an arrest of a Pakistani National in Dhaka for his suspicious activity at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.

Already on the radar of the Security officials, a 36-year-old Pakistani man by the name Sajid Khan was approached by the officials of Chittagong Kings during last night match if news sources are to be believed. However, Sajid Khan was stopped by the BCB Security officials from entering into the players’ zone. He was arrested after that and is said to have some kind of transactions going on with a couple of foreign players taking part in the BPL.

It is also learnt that Sajid Khan was sitting in the VIP enclosure and making calls back to Pakistan after each and every six hit by the batsmen. The Bangladeshi police today have been granted two days to grill Sajid Khan by a Dhaka court hearing.
