Sri Lanka kept their hopes alive of making it to the Semi Finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 by beating hosts England in a high-scoring Group A Match at The Oval in London. Kumar Sangakkara with a 15th ODI century steered the Lankans to a 7-wicket win with 17 balls in a run chase of 294.
That the third ODI between Australia and Sri Lanka at Brisbane was dominated by bowlers would be an understatement. Sixteen wickets fell on the day, the entire match lasted less than 50 overs and the total match aggregate did not even cross 150.
Sri Lanka just managed to pull off a victory in the Gabba ODI despite the target being as low as 75! The pitch at the Gabba for the Third ODI was such that as many as 16 wickets tumbled down in less than 50 overs of action.
