Mumbai Indians suffered their fourth defeat in a row, going down by 6 wickets at Sharjah after yet another feeble batting performance. It was a match against two struggling teams and it saw Delhi Daredevils collect what was only their second win in five games.

Batting first, Mumbai Indians struggled to reach 125 for 6 which was knocked down with 7 balls to spare by Delhi Daredevils. Trouble began early for Mumbai Indians when their Skipper Rohit Sharma who came out to open the innings was run out trying to take a suicidal single from the bowler Mohammed Shami’s right in the 2nd over.

By the 9th over, Mumbai Indians lost three more wickets which included that of Corey J Anderson (caught pulling Unadkat) and AT Rayudu with the score at just 46 on the board with four wickets down.

Jaydev Unadkat with a slower loopy delivery clean bowled Michael Hussey to leave Mumbai Indians in further trouble at 63 for 5 in 13.5 overs. Mumbai Indians managed to end up with a respectable total with Kieron Pollard scoring an unbeaten 33 from 30 balls. For Delhi Daredevils, Shahbaz Nadeen with 4-0-19-1 and Wayne Parnell with 4-0-17-1 were instrumental in restricting the Mumbai Indians to a below par total.

The run chase for Delhi Daredevils was pretty easy with Murali Vijay anchoring the innings with his 40 from 34 balls. There was a false hope for the Mumbai Indians when Duminy and Dinesh Karthik got out in the 16th over. However with Skipper Kevin Pietersen around, the target of 126 was too less to chase. Pietersen guided Daredevils home with an unbeaten 26 from 18 balls. Murali Vijay was the surprise choice for the Man of the Match award.

Toss and Teams: Mumbai Indians have won the toss and elected to bat first in Match 16 against Delhi Daredevils at Sharjah. Mumbai Indians remain unchanged while Delhi Daredevils have replaced Manoj Tiwary with Kedar Jadav.
