Chennai Super Kings ended their three-match losing streak by defeating hosts RCB by 8 wickets with 2.2 overs to spare. Virat Kohli’s splendid knock went in vain as CSK chased down the target of 155 with utmost ease.

Chennai Super Kings ended their three-match losing streak by defeating hosts RCB by 8 wickets with 2.2 overs to spare. Virat Kohli’s splendid knock went in vain as CSK chased down the target of 155 with utmost ease.

Opener Dwayne Smith gave a flying start scoring 34 from 17 balls to set up an easy chase. The other opener Faf du Plessis played the anchor with an unbeaten 54 from 43 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Skipper MS Dhoni promoted himself at no.4 to play a good knock of 49 not out from 28 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes and thus wrapping up things quickly.

MS Dhoni was the Man of the Match.

RCB innings: Skipper Virat Kohli scored a superb 73 from 49 balls to help hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore to post a healthy total of 154 for 6 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore against the Chennai Super Kings in Match 53 of IPL 7.

Asked to bat first after losing the toss, RCB were in early trouble at 31 for 2 in 4.5 overs. A 55-run stand between Kohli and Yuvraj Singh (25 from 24 balls) steadied the ship for RCB. Kohli batted till almost of the close of the innings hitting a couple of fours and 5 sixes.

Ashish Nehra who is playing after a long time was the most successful bowler for CSK taking 3 for 33 in his four overs.
