Virender Sehwag’s smashing century set up Kings XI Punjab’s victory over Chennai Super Kings in a high-run scoring contest at the Wankhede Stadium. Kings XI Punjab defeated CSK by 24 runs in Qualifier 2 which now has them clashing against Kolkata Knight Riders for the IPL 2014 title on Sunday.

Sehwag scored a blistering ton to help Kings XI Punjab to a mammoth total of 226 for 6. The veteran opener scored 122 from 58 balls with 12 fours and 8 sixes.

Just when everybody had written off CSK in the run chase, Suresh Raina produced an unbelievable knock which had his team cruising through at one stage. An unlucky run out cost Raina his wicket and with that perished CSK’s chances of pulling off an unbelievable run chase.

Suresh Raina’s knock was fiercer than Sehwag’s as the former’s half century came in just 16 balls! Raina scored 87 from 25 balls with 12 fours and 6 sixes after entering into the middle in the third ball of the innings and leaving it after just 6.1 overs! CSK thanks to his mind blowing knock were already 100 on the board in 6.1 overs.

Kings XI Punjab regained control over the match with some lovely fielding while the spinners bowled on a tight leash. CSK went down fighting with a total of 202 for 7.
