Hosts Delhi Daredevils had an easy stroll in the park at the Feroz Shah Kotla against defending champs Chennai Super Kings. The Daredevils chased the target of 111 in just 13.2 overs to win by 8 wickets with as many as 40 balls to spare.

Skipper Virender Sehwag led the way smashing his way to 33 from 21 balls with 4 fours and a six before he threw his wicket away to R Aswhin. CSK was never in contest with the ball as the Delhi Daredevils batsmen went berserk. Kevin Pietersen was brutal as he finished the game with an unbeaten 43 from 26 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes in the company of Mahela Jayawardene who eased to 20* (from 21 balls).

Infact the first ball of the match itself saw a run out and that kind of set the trend in the CSK innings. Not a single batsman could get going for the CSK. Morne Morkel led the bowling with mean figures of 4-0-19-2. Left arm spinners Roelof van der Merwe with 4-0-15-0 and Shahbaz Nadeem with 3-0-9-0 strangled the CSK batsmen completely in the middle overs. The top scorer for CSK was Dwayne Bravo who consumed 31 balls for his 22.
