Former Australia skipper Steve Waugh feels Virat Kohli is doing a good job as captain of India right now, but he needs to find a way to keep his emotions in check at times.

"Virat is leading very well right now, he has that charisma and that X-factor. That's why the rest of the team follows him. He wants the team to play positively all the time. They have got a very good win record in the last couple of years in all forms of the game. Virat has high aspirations from his team,” Waugh was quoted as telling journos at the sidelines of the Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco.
Waugh, however, admitted that his show of emotions in South Africa went out of control. "As a captain, he is still developing and needs some time to rope in his excitement and emotions. But that’s the way he plays. I think he just needs to get a bit of awareness that everyone in the side cannot play in that fashion.

“Someone like Rahane and Pujara are very calm and quiet guys, so he needs to just understand that some players are different as well. At times, he probably needs to tone it down and at times he needs to lift it. So he needs to work out what’s right,” explained Waugh.
