Mumbai Indians crushed Pune Warriors by a big margin of 41 runs at the Wankhede Stadium to collect their third win of IPL 6. Batting first after winning the toss, Mumbai Indians piled up 183 for 3 in 20 overs. Sachin Tendulkar atlast came good scoring 44 from 29 balls with 7 fours and a six to give the impetus for Mumbai Indians.

The in-form Dinesh Karthik stroked his way to a 29-ball 41 with 4 fours and a six. Another in-form batsman Rohit Sharma gave the finishing with an unbeaten 62 from 32 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes. While leggie Rahul Sharma went for just 27 off his 4 overs and Skipper Angelo Mathews went for 29 in 4 overs, speedster Ashok Dinda was taken to the cleaners for 63 runs off his 4 overs.

In the run chase, Pune Warriors were straightaway out of the contest as Mitchell Johnson with his pacy inswingers got rid of the dangerous Aaron Finch and Robin Uthappa early. Finch was out for a first ball duck of the very first ball of the innings while another big gun Ross Taylor departed after him getting run out. Pune found some life through Yuvraj Singh but the left-hander got caught at deep mid wicket pulling Pollard after a 16-ball 24.

Pune Warriors could only reduce the margin of defeat in the end with Mitchell Marsh contributing 38 from 26 balls. Rohit Sharma got the Man of the Match award.
