West Indies are in the driver’s seat in the Second and Final Test at Khulna as they consolidated their solid position with the bat on the third day’s play. Marlon Samuels, the overnight centurion went onto register a maiden double century of his Test career. Veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul added a 27th Test century to his long career as the Windies finished Day 3 at 564 for 4 in 172 overs.

The tourists have stretched their first innings lead to 172 runs and are likely to bat another couple of sessions if they are not bowled out by then to leave Bangladesh the tough task of saving the Test match.

Marlon SamuelsThe third day’s play started with West Indies at 241 for 2 in 82 overs. Darren Bravo managed to score his 4th Test century before getting out to off spinner Sohag Gazi. Bravo ended up with 127 which came in 288 balls with 10 fours. His overnight partner – Marlon Samuels went onto score a career best of 260 (from 455 balls with 31 fours and 3 sixes).

By Stumps, Chanderpaul collected 109* (from 206 balls with 10 fours and a six) and has got Wicket Keeper Dinesh Ramdin to give him company tomorrow morning.
