It was a low-scoring contest at the WACA Ground in Perth with the visiting Hobart Hurricanes defeating hosts Perth Scorchers comprehensively despite putting up a modest 140 on the board. Perth despite having the big names like Herschelle Gibbs, Simon Katich, Michael Hussey and Paul Collingwood faltered big time in the run chase to fall short by 31 runs!
A fine bowling performance of 4 for 40 from Ben Edmondson for Perth went in vain. But his efforts were instrumental in bowling out Hobart Hurricanes for 140. The top scorer of the match was Travis Birt of Hobart who scored 40 from 34 balls. The Player of the Match award went to swing bowler Ben Hilfenhaus of Hobart who claimed mean figures of 4-1-10-2!
