Batting first after winning the toss, Railways posted 379 in their first innings with Wicket Keeper Mahesh Rawat top scoring with 103. Opener ShivakantShukla narrowly missed out on a century falling for 96. Orissa in their first innings were bowled out for 331, just 48 runs short of Railways's total. The top scorer for Orissa was Paresh Patel who made 95.

The match finished with Railways in their second innings crawling to 113 for 2 in 51 overs with opener ShreyasKhanolkar scoring a slow unbeaten 50* from 160 balls.
