West Indies defeated England by 8 wickets in a rain disrupted contest at Guyana

West Indies defeated England by 8 wickets in a rain disrupted contest at Guyana. England were really unlucky as they posted plenty of runs on the board, 191 to be precise and had it been a 20-over contest, they would have won this game! However, it was the decision of Gayle to bat second that proved to be crucial with the match getting affected by rain as expected.

The hosts needed just the 60 runs to win from 6 overs according to the D/L Method which wasn't difficult at all especially when play resumed after the rain break with 30 runs to get from 22 balls. Gayle scored an important 25 from 12 balls which included two sixes while Chanderpaul (15* from 13 balls with a six) and Andre Fletcher (12* from 10 balls) finished the match with a ball to spare.

This defeat for England means that they will have to win against Ireland at any cost if they have to enter into the Super Eights.
