Auckland: Pakistan has made an unimpressive start to its cricket tour of New Zealand, losing by five wickets to Auckland province in a Twenty20 warmup match.
After losing two wickets in the opening over, Pakistan was bowled out for only 90 in 17.5 overs, Umar Gul top-scoring with 19. Younis Khan made 18 and Abdul Razzaq 16.
Auckland reached their winning target in only 13.2 overs, led by New Zealand opening batsman Martin Guptill who made an unbeaten 28. Saeed Ajmal took 2 for 20 and Shoaib Akhtar 2-31.
Pakistan will meet New Zealand in the first of three Twenty20 internationals in Auckland on Sunday.
