In what could be nothing more than day dreaming, the Pakistan Cricket Board is likely to send an invitation for the Indian players to take part in their inaugural Pakistan Premier League (PPL). This has been confirmed by none other than the PCB Chief Zaka Ashraf as per various news sources.
Of late, the PCB has been sounding desperate for Pakistan to play in a bilateral series against India. Relations between the two neighbouring countries hit a low after the 2008 Mumbai Terror attacks. Pakistani players were ignored in the IPL editions as well following the Mumbai Terror attacks. However, recent news stories have suggested that the BCCI too is looking to oblige with the PCB.
If at all the PPL does take place, then players not from just India but from other countries as well would be apprehensive of playing in the tournament in Pakistan. International Cricket has slipped away from Pakistan following the Terror attack on the touring Sri Lankan Cricket team a few years ago. Ever since that, International Cricket teams have shown zero interest in touring Pakistan which almost daily has news of terror attack in some place or the other. Even the lowly rated Bangladeshi Cricket team refused to tour Pakistan because of the instable law and order conditions there.
